Just image if we entrusted our pension and welfare fund to FEDOP who tried to get members to sign up with LEEBA, our nest egg would have probably been pilfered and looted. Read the article and then contemplate do you want a union with experience or amateurs? If you said, experience, then stick with UPOA and let’s get down to business.

LEEBA President Charged with Scamming Members
As per the Daily News article dated 7/13/20, the president of LEEBA raided members’ retirement funds to pay for a second home, travel and a car, federal prosecutors charged Monday.
“Kenneth Wynder Jr., the president of the Law Enforcement Employees Benevolent Association, was charged with running the fraud scheme since 2014. Authorities said he made more than $500,000 bogus transfer out of retirement accounts, wiping out the entire balance for some members. The union represents members of the city’s Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Sanitation and Department of Transportation”.
This could have been us had members sided with FEDOP and their collaboration with LEEBA.

Probation Officer Exam Postponed
The New York City Department of Administrative Services (DCAS) has advised that the July 10, 2020 civil service examination for Probation Officer is being postponed due to COVID-19. As of now, DCAS have not rescheduled any exams and are not administering any exams. DCAS is awaiting offices reopening for business and will then begin to reschedule exams after that has occurred. Additionally, the civil service Promotion examination for Supervising Probation Officer will be a priority for rescheduling once DCAS open and then later exams will follow. Lastly, DCAS will provide more information as the City reopens and are able to ensure the safety and health of their employees and customers.
